Dell’s Cheapest Android Phone – Dell XCD35

The Dell XCD35 is an Android touchscreen handset that was launched as an upgrade over the Dell XCD28. This 3G smartphone runs Android v2.2. The XCD35 is powered by a ARM11, 600 MHz processor that supports faster multitasking while cutting back on power consumption.

The XCD35 features a 3.5 inch capacitive display with 262K colors at 800 x 480 pixels. The higher pixel density on the 3.5 inch screen serves to enhance screen clarity and supports faster refresh speeds. The 3.2 megapixel camera on the XCD35 supports full auto focus with multiple shoot modes.

Design
The XCD35 sports a sleek, contoured chassis that allows for a comfortable palm grip and hassle-free portability. This 3G smartphone weighs 120 g and has dimensions of 56 x 114 x 12.2 mm. The XCD35 features a proximity sensor for auto-turn off of the display when you bring it close to your face to pick up a call.

Connectivity and Features
The Dell XCD35 is powered by Android 2.2 OS, with high speed connectivity options including 3G and Wi-Fi. This Android phone is preloaded with Webkit browser and offers full-fledged Internet browsing with multi-touch and pinch-to-zoom support. This 3G smartphone features a media player that supports MP3, WAV, MP4, H.264, H.263 and eAAC+ formats.
The XCD35 features a location awareness functionality that uses A-GPS to provide easy mapping and directions using Google Maps. Additional connectivity features in the phone include GPRS, EDGE, Bluetooth v2.1 and microUSB port. The phone also supports access to Corporate Email via Active sync. This 3G Android phone is preloaded with a Document reader with support for Word, Spreadsheet and Powerpoint formats.

Storage and Battery
This 3G smartphone comes with 200 MB of internal memory that can be expanded up to 16 GB with micro SD memory cards. A 1250 mAh Li-ion battery powers the XCD35 and gives a talk time of 4 hrs and a standby time of 216 hrs.
